Great capture of the owl. The background looks somewhat surreal and definitely adds to the photo.
A great image!

Great shot. Background really complements because it looks like birds in motion. My only suggestion would be to brighten the owl a bit.

Surreal surrounding as Gary mentioned!

Very nice, rare and difficult capture.

Your settings:
F4.0
1/40
ISO100

I would have gone for a shorter exposure and higher ISO. Wonder what would have happened then.

Capturing the animals and birds in the free nature is so much more interesting than in the zoo imo. Well done Ola! (thumbup)

I tried but there was no time to play with 1000 different settings...
I have some shoots at iso 400 but the angle is not as good as this picture.
I was happy to get some nice shoots on this small shy owl ...

I love owls! The lighting works fine for me. Hey folks, it's a shy owl, not a star in the spotlight.

I love the picture !! The owl is a beautiful bird and great light and focus!!! And I love the background, although I think it dose not help the composition !!!

I think the background becomes more complex and interesting than your subject. You may want to just shoot that shot again in this light because the background is interesting - and then capture the owl again in a different setting when you spot one! Good capture +8/10

Nice capture. I agree with moserArtist that wild animals are much more interesting than zoo animals. The background and lighting give this bird a wild and secretive feeling.

beatiful shot but i think it needs more contrast and focus is abit soft, also the blured branch infront of the owl is abit distracting....!!!
Well done....!!!

Thats a cute one :)
I like the sharpness and when the backgroud is a bit "suddig", hah, great pic, 7/7

I like the contrast and tones, but I think the overexposed spots in the background are a bit distracting from the bird.

Congratulations on finding an owl! I have not been so lucky but will keep trying. I love the patterns in the sky but I find the area below the owl a bit busy.

Good work!
